Sermon for the Twenty-Sixth Sunday after Pentecost 2018

Sermon given by Pastor Kathleen O’Keefe Reed on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at University Lutheran Church. Texts for the day were:

  • Daniel 12:1-3
  • Psalm 16
  • Hebrews 10:11-14, 19-25

In this sermon, Pastor Reed tells the stories of “Moonscape,” a drawing created by 14-year old Petr Ginz, who died in Auschwitz in 1944, and of the Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon, who took a copy of “Moonscape” with him on the final flight of the space shuttle Columbia. To view the drawing and photos of Ginz and Ramon, visit “Special Exhibit in Honor of Israeli Astronaut Col. Ilan Ramon” on the Yad Vashem website.
