In Memory of Rachel Levenberg

University Lutheran Church will host a Celebration of Life for Rachel K. Levenberg, mother of UniLu member Amy Vachon, on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 3 pm. All are welcome to attend in person or via Zoom. See below or the Zoom link and service bulletin.

Rachel K. Levenberg, born Helen Rachel Keto on August 1, 1932 in Maynard, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025 at the age of 93 in Chicago, Illinois, surrounded by family. She was a loving mother to Amy Vachon of Watertown and Kathy Sieben (Ticho) of Chicago, and grandmother to Gideon Ticho of Chicago, Lucia Ticho of Toronto, Maia Vachon of Brookline, and Theo Vachon of Watertown. She is the widow of the late Bruce Levenberg of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and lived in Ann Arbor for over 60 years.

Rachel was an award-winning graphic artist for the Ann Arbor District Library for many years. Prior to her career in graphic arts, she was a chemist in nutritional sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Boston University with a B.S. in Chemistry. Outside of work, Rachel was an avid gardener, classical music supporter, gourmet cook, cat lover, and fluent speaker of her heritage language of Finnish. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor for many years.
