Bread ☩ Belonging is an intergenerational, participatory, and engaging service for all! The service was conceived as a way to meet faith formation needs for children and teenagers, and it is a family-friendly space. Yet, B ☩ B is not just for families and children. Many of our regular attendees are adults who appreciate the intimate feel of the service.
The B ☩ B service is liturgically Lutheran and music-filled, with worship and communion taking place in UniLu’s Alumni/ae Room. Music is provided by a piano, and we sing a lot! Our nursery attendant holds a craft corner for children during the service, which they can move freely to and from. We hold the Belonging Moment, which focuses on what it means to belong in this space, to UniLu, to an ELCA congregation, to the greater Boston community, and to the world. We’ve explored everything from the Luther Seal to singing the gospel story with motions to lighting candles over song. B ☩ B cultivates a close-knit community in a casual yet always traditionally Lutheran worship space.
