[choir and instrumentalists rehearsing, May 2009]

We invite you to sing with us! The UniLu choir aims to bring high-quality music from a variety of traditions to the community's worship life. We are students and "students of life," professional musicians and beginners who just love to sing. Choir director John Paulson (standing second from left in the photo above) will be happy to tell you more at jpaulson@unilu.org, by phone at 617.876.3256 x205, or in person on Sunday mornings.

On most weeks during the academic year, we rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7:30 until 9:00 P.M. and on Sunday mornings from 10:15 through 10:45 A.M. We sing most often at the 11:00 service, but occasionally at the 9:00 service, and at both services on special occasions.

Highlights of recent years have included:

  • Presenting the world premiere performances of cantatas by our distinguished composer-in-residence, Bruce Brolsma, in 2005, 2006, and 2009 (listen to Prepare The Way and God For Us)

  • Sharing several movements of "Prepare the Way" at the April 2008 memorial service for Bishop Krister Stendahl, beloved UniLu member and former Dean of Harvard Divinity School (photo)

  • Participating in the Shelter Benefit Concert series (see the 2004 and 2005 programs)

  • Offering cantatas by Dieterich Buxtehude in 2007 and 2008; by Georg Telemann in 2004, and by Johann Sebastian Bach in 2002 and 2003 (details).
