UniLu welcomes folk singer Carrie Newcomer on Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Carrie will offer a workshop from 1-4 P.M. and a concert to benefit Haiti relief efforts at 7:30 P.M.
The workshop explores how our personal stories of hope, struggle, and transformation connect us to the larger cultural story. Participants will utilize writing exercises, deep listening, and discussion to identify the important stories of our lives and times, and how we as individuals can participate in new stories of hope and possibility. The workshop fee is $75.
The suggested donation for the concert is $25. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans's Care Abounds in Communities program will contribute $1 for every $3 raised, up to a total of $1,000.
For more information, see the event flyer (PDF).
